S&P 500, Nasdaq under pressure as chip stocks see red

US stocks (^DJI, ^IXIC, ^GSPC) are mixed ahead of Tuesday's market close as the Nasdaq Composite drops by over 1%, pushed lower by declines in chip stocks.
