S&P 500, Nasdaq Rise to Start May at Fresh Record Highs

Stocks started off May with some modest gains after the S&P 500 and Nasdaq wrapped their best month since 2020. The Dow was up 141 points, or 0.3%. The S&P 500 was up 0.5%. The Nasdaq was up 0.7%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq each set fresh intraday records shortly after the open.
