Freeport Shares Slide as Indonesian Mine Restart Faces Delay

Freeport-McMoRan fell after the copper miner warned that a slower ramp-up at its flagship Grasberg mine in Indonesia will weigh on future production. The top US copper producer said it’s pushing back the restart schedule at the Grasberg complex after discovering new challenges with specialized equipment needed to restart operations following last year’s deadly mudslide.
