Dow jumps 800 points, S&P 500 at new record, Nasdaq gains 6.8% this week

All three of the market indexes (^DJI, ^IXIC, ^GSPC) closed Friday's session with significant gains, led by the Dow Jones Industrial Average which rose by nearly 868 points (1.79%) in the day. The S&P 500 ended the trading week 4.5% higher while the Nasdaq Composite surged by 6.84%. Yahoo Finance Markets and Data Editor Jared Blikre notes the fresh record highs for US stocks.
