Wall Street Fear Index Rises as Iran Cease-Fire Rally Fades

The most widely followed gauge of market fear and uncertainty was rising on Thursday, suggesting investors were feeling nervous as the cease-fire between the U.S. and Iran showed signs of cracking. The Cboe Volatility Index, or VIX, climbed 0.4 points to just over 21. Based on traders' so-called rule of 16, the VIX is implying that investors expect average daily moves of about 1.3% for the S&P 500.
