Stock Futures Rebound, Oil Gives Up Gains as Investors Weigh Up Iran

Stock futures were struggling for direction Thursday as investors tried to make sense of mixed messages about peace talks between the U.S. and Iran. Wall Street fear gauge the Cboe Volatility Index, or VIX, slid 0.1 points to just over 21. The three major indexes all rallied on Wednesday, with the S&P 500 nearing the level it was trading at before the Iran attacks.
