The most widely followed benchmark for small U.S. companies, the Russell 2000 Index, just did something it hasn’t in decades. It beat the large cap S&P 500 for 14 days in a row through last Thursday. Nobody can say whether the momentum will continue this time, but small stocks look like an opportunity for patient investors.
