Inside the MIT Lab Building The Future of Bionic Limbs

Hugh Herr, professor of media arts and sciences at the MIT Media Lab, says that his experience losing both of his lower legs at age 17 drove him to expand the capability of prosthetic limbs to respond to the human nervous system and sensory input. Herr says that the lab's goal for the coming decades is to connect the human brain to prosthesis and potentially restore movement to limbs that have lost the ability. (Source: Bloomberg)
