'Fear Gauge' Falls To Year's Low. A Bad Sign For The Stock Market?

The stock market's so-called fear gauge fell Friday to the lowest level of the year, showing remarkable optimism among investors despite worries of higher interest rates and an unclear path for the Iran conflict. The Cboe Market Volatility index, better known as the VIX, fell to 14.18 at Friday's low and closed at 14.25. For comparison, the VIX jumped as high as 31.65 on March 27, the highest reading so far this year.
