DC Crime Crackdown Tests Federal Prosecutors

A Bloomberg Law investigation finds federal prosecutors dismissed or downgraded many felony assault cases brought during President Donald Trump’s crime crackdown in Washington DC, with only a handful resulting in convictions. Bloomberg Law Editor-at-Large Keith Alexander says on Bloomberg This Weekend that the cases raise questions about prosecutorial pressure and legal authority as roughly 4,600 National Guard troops remain deployed in the capital through January 2029.
