Dow and Nasdaq Head in Different Directions

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 117 points, or 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4%. The gap between the Dow and Nasdaq was largely driven by their respective exposures to tech: Software and chip stocks were pulling back after rallying earlier this month.
