Heard on the Street Recap: Walmart Succession

Walmart said Chief Executive Doug McMillon would step down after more than a decade in the role. John Furner, chief executive of Walmart U.S. since 2019, will succeed him as CEO after the company’s fiscal year ends Feb. 1. The 51-year-old Furner began his Walmart career as an hourly associate in 1993 and has held leadership roles across merchandising, operations and sourcing.
