US equity futures edge lower as the longest government shutdown comes to an end amid a clouded outlook for interest rates. Alibaba is said to be preparing for a major overhaul of its flagship AI app to rival OpenAI's ChatGPT. The UK economy barely grew in the third quarter with GDP rising 0.1% compared with 0.3% previously.
