The U.S. will postpone strikes against Iran’s energy infrastructure for the next five days following discussions between the two countries, President Donald Trump announced in a social media post Monday. The pair had “very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East,” Trump wrote. Trump had threatened to attack Iranian power plants if Tehran didn’t open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, in comments made Saturday evening in the U.S. Iran had said it would retaliate with attacks against infrastructure.
