S&P 500 health insurer Molina Healthcare crashed to a nearly six-year low on Friday morning after posting an unexpected loss amid surging health benefit costs. Centene, another S&P 500 member, also reported a loss, though that was anticipated. Molina said that it expects insured Affordable Care Act Marketplace membership to sink from 713,000 at the end of Q3 to just 220,000 at the end of 2026.
