The US Department of Energy (DOE) has provided a $1 billion loan to Constellation Energy, a Microsoft partner, to restart the Three Mile Island reactor. The loan will be used to refurbish the reactor, which was idled in 2019. Microsoft has agreed to purchase the power generated by the facility once it reopens in 2028.
